#NYFW Manhattan

Segundo post desde la Gran Manzana.

Aunque las Fashion Weeks consistan en ir vestidos lo más extravagantes y diferentes a lo normal posible (o lo más hortera en muchas ocasiones), también hay días en los que a mí personalmente me apetece vestirme más casual y normal. Por eso esta vez opté por ponerme unos jeans ajustados con rotos combinados con mi camisa blanca con volantes y botones dorados, a juego con mis botines dorados. El toque que más me gustó y que más llama la atención del look son justo los botines y la cazadora vaquera con todas estas lentejuelas bordadas a modo de alas. Es por lo que más me preguntasteis en las redes sociales.

Los dos primeros días que pasé en Nueva York dormí en el Hotel Room Mate Grace que está súper bien ubicado en pleno Time Square, una de las zonas más bonitas y comerciales de Manhattan y que me encanta recorrer ya sea de día o de noche. Ahí os recomiendo comer en Hard Rock o en Bubba Gump, dos de los restaurantes más típicos aunque también llenos de turistas. Para el resto de la semana me cambié al Hotel 48 Lex que está muy cerca, como a 10 minutos andando, pero un poco más hacia el norte y cerca de Central Park. Me gusta estar en hoteles por esta zona porque pasear por Central Park es algo que me encanta hacer siempre que visito NY y también porque esta es la zona más “céntrica” de la isla. Hacia el Norte está el parque y los museos, hacia el Sur Brooklyn o el Soho. Y al Este y Oeste tenemos East o West Village.

Este día íbamos al desfile de Brandon Maxwell que tuvo lugar en un hotel en la 5th Avenida enfrente de Central Park, por lo que hicimos las fotos por la tarde en las calles que íbamos recorriendo de camino al desfile. Lo bueno de NY es que es muy muy fácil orientarse y no perderse. Todas las calles van perfectamente ordenadas de la 1 a la 174 en horizontal y las verticales son avenidas de la 1 a la 12 con algún nombre entre medias (aunque desde Houston hacia Downtown los nombres de las calles cambian un poco). En esta zona os recomiendo pasar a tomar el té por el Hotel Plaza, que está buenísimo y después ir a tomar una copa al hotel Dream el domingo después del brunch (el hotel donde suele ir “Manhattan’s elite”).

Second post from the Big Apple.

Although Fashion Weeks consist on dressing as extravagant and different as possible (or more tacky in many occasions), there are also days when I personally feel like dressing more casual and normal. That’s why this time I chose to wear my ripped skinny jeans combined with my white shirt with ruffles and gold buttons, matching my gold booties. The touch that I liked the most and which attracts almost all the attention of the look are just the booties and the denim jacket with all these sequins embroidered as wings. That’s what you asked me the most on my social networks.

The first two days I spent in New York I slept at the Room Mate Grace Hotel which is super well located in Time Square, one of the nicest and most commercial areas of Manhattan. I love to walk around there at any time of the day or night. Here I recommend you eating at Hard Rock or at Bubba Gump, two of the most typical restaurants but also full of tourists. For the rest of the week I switched to the 48 Lex Hotel which is very close, about 10 minutes walking, but a little further to the north and near Central Park. I like to stay in hotels around this area because strolling around Central Park is something I really like to do whenever I visit NY and also because this is the most “central” area of ​​the island. To the North you have the park and the museums, to the South Brooklyn or Soho. And to the East and West we have East or West Village.

This day we were going to the Brandon Maxwell fashion show that took place in a hotel on the 5th Avenue just in front of Central Park, so we took the photos in the afternoon in the streets while we were walking on our way to the show. The good thing about NY is that it is very very easy to get around and not get lost. All the streets are perfectly arranged from 1 to 174 horizontally and the verticals are avenues from 1 to 12 with some names in between (although from Houston to Downtown the names of the streets change a little bit). In this area I recommend you go to have a tea at the Plaza Hotel, which is great and then go to have a drink at the Dream Hotel on Sunday after the brunch (the hotel where usually go “Manhattan’s elite”).

#NYFW High Line

¡Hola chicos!

¡Perdonad por el caos que están siendo estas semanas pero voy tarde a todo! Nos levantamos pronto, nos acostamos tarde, estamos todo el día en atascos, luego tenemos que ir a desfiles, hacer fotos, grabar vídeos… de verdad ¡necesito más horas en mis días! haha.

Llegó el momento de que saquéis papel y lápiz (o móvil los más modernos hehe) y toméis nota de todos los consejos, lugares, restaurantes etc que os voy a ir contando en los próximos posts sobre Nueva York.

Primer post desde la Gran Manzana, desde la semana de la moda de esta nueva edición de Septiembre. Generalmente os desfiles suelen tener lugar en dos localizaciones: Skylight Clarkson (558 Washington St) o en los Pier de Chelsea. Por eso lo que solemos hacer siempre todas las influencers es llegar un poco antes o si no nos da tiempo a la salida, recorrer la zona en busca de buenas localizaciones para las fotos y vídeos. En este caso el desfile al que asistimos estaba muy cerca de Chelsea Market, uno de los mercados más conocidos de Manhattan. A los amantes de la pasta os recomiendo comer en Giovanni Rana, el mejor sitio de pasta dentro de este mercado. Al lado está The High Line que son unas antiguas vías de tren que han renovado y acondicionado para pasear con unas espectaculares vistas a todo Chelsea. ¡Me encanta esta zona para hacer fotos! Después comimos en otro de mis restaurantes favoritos que se llama The Park, que es este jardín tan ideal que os enseñé en Stories y que veréis en el vídeo, lleno de luces, árboles y mucho encanto.

Este día escogí una bomber blanca oversize que me puse como vestido porque me quedaba lo suficientemente larga, combinada con mis botines negros con estrellas plateadas y mi bolso rojo con detalles de colores. Llevo también mis nuevas pulseras de plata combinadas con cuero que son joyas que me gustan porque visten cualquier outfit. La gorra me la compré en una tienda vintage de dentro del mercado, me gustó la palabra unicornio por mi lado infantil e inocente que nunca quiero perder y escogí este color rosa de efecto lavado porque no tengo ninguna en este color.

¡Mañana os cuento más cositas pero id apuntando todos los sitios, lugares y consejos que os doy sobre Nueva York!

Hi guys!

Forgive me for these chaotic last weeks but they have been really really crazy… I’m always late to everything! We get up early, we go to bed super late, we are all day in traffic jams, then we have to go from one show to another but always taking photos, filming videos… I really need more hours in my days! lol. 

So now it’s time for you to bring a paper and a pencil (or you can use your phone too) and take note of all the advices, places, restaurants etc that I will tell you in the next posts about New York City.

First post from the Big Apple, from the fashion week of this new September edition. Usually the fashion shows take place in two main locations: Skylight Clarkson (558 Washington St) or Chelsea Piers. That’s why what we usually do (all the influencers) is to arrive a little bit earlier or right after the show to take the pics. We walk around the area trying to find the best locations or corners to take the photos and videos. In this case the show I was attended was very close to Chelsea Market, one of Manhattan’s best-known markets. For pasta lovers I recommend you to go to Giovanni Rana, the best pasta place within this market. Less than 5 minutes walking is The High Line which are old railroad tracks which have been renovated and fitted out for a stroll with spectacular views to all Chelsea neighbourhood. I love this area for taking pictures! Then we had lunch at another of my favorite restaurants called The Park, which is this cute garden that I showed you on my Stories and you will see in the video, full of lights, trees and so much charm.

This day I chose an oversize white bomber that I wore as a dress because it was long enough, combined with my black booties with silver stars and my red purse with colorful details. I also was wearing my new silver bracelets combined with leather that are jewels that I like because you can wear them with any outfit. The cap I bought it in a vintage store inside the market, I liked the word unicorn for my childish and innocent side that I never want to lose and I chose this pink washed effect color because I did’nt have anyone yet in this color.

Tomorrow I will tell you more things but take not of all the places, restaurants and advices that I will be giving you about New York!

Marbella, part II

Lo que yo entiendo por moda es intentar adaptar las tendencias actuales a mi propio estilo. Me considero una persona bastante ecléctica ya que puedo ir cómoda con un chandal, tranquila con unos jeans y una camiseta básica o vestirme más lady en determinadas ocasiones, y con todos los estilos me siento identificada.  Pero de lo que yo creo que se trata la moda no es del “todo vale” o “me pongo todo y a ver cómo queda”, sino de ver qué nos gusta y cómo lo podemos adaptar a nuestro propio estilo.

A algunos no os gustó mucho este look de pantalón y sudadera tipo chandal, pero yo lo escogí personalmente de la web de la marca porque me apetecía jugar un poco con este margen que os comento y enseñaros algo un poco diferente a lo que os tengo acostumbrados. La verdad es que son prendas muy cómodas que además si sabes cómo combinarlas como en este caso con unas sandalias de tacón, pueden servirnos perfectamente para una ocasión más arreglada. También intenté innovar en el peinado que ya sabéis que me encanta llevar el pelo suelto siempre y muy natural, sin hacerme nada, pero el royo de la capucha me hizo pensar en que quizá con un moño quedaría mejor. Esto sí que se que os gustó más aunque yo me sigo viendo muy rara con todo el pelo recogido… haha.

El domingo Laura se acercó a comer con nostros al beach club del hotel. Pasamos una tarde muy divertida porque con ellos me paso el día riéndonos, bailando, cantando… incluso tuvimos unos fans muy graciosos que nos dejaron un erizo de mar en mi toalla.

Qué importante es vivir la vida hoy, disfrutar de este momento, del presente, del ahora. Porque el pasado pasado está, y ya aprendimos de él. Y el futuro es incierto siempre. Nunca sabemos dónde estaremos mañana. Así que hagamos todo lo que podamos hoy e intentemos ser felices al máximo, y mañana Dios dirá…

What I understand for fashion is to try to adapt the current trends to my own style. I consider myself an eclectic person since I can go comfortable with a pair of sweatpants and sweatshirt, feel good with jeans and a basic t-shirt or dress me more lady for certain occasions, and with all styles I feel identified. But what I think is fashion is not “to wear everything” or “to put everything and see how it looks,” but to see what we like and how we can adapt it to our own style.

Some people did not like these pants and sweat style hoodie, but I personally chose it from the brand website because I wanted to play a little bit with these different clothes that I’m not use to show you so you can see something a little bit different from what I use to wear. The truth is that they are super comfortable clothes that also if you know how to combine them as in this case with heels sandals, we can wear it perfectly for a cooler event. I also tried to innovate in the hairstyle because you know that I love to wear the hair always straight and very natural, without doing anything, but the hood made me think that maybe with a hair bun would be better. This I know that you liked it more although it still looks very strange to me with all my hair away from my face… haha.

On Sunday Laura came to have lunch with us at the hotel’s beach club. We spent a very fun afternoon because with them I spend every day laughing, dancing, singing… we even had some very funny fans who left us a sea urchin on my towel.

How important it is to live life today, to enjoy this moment, the present, the NOW. Because the past is in the past, and we have already learned from it. And the future is always uncertain. We never know where we’ll be tomorrow. So let’s do all we can do today and try to be as happy as possible, and tomorrow God will say…

¡Buenos días familia!

Ya estoy saliendo de casa para un shooting que tengo hoy con L’Oreal y a medio día me voy a Marbella con Carlitos hasta el domingo. ¡Estad atentos porque os iré enseñando todo lo que vamos a hacer por allí!

Quiero saber hoy vuestra opinión sobre combinar diferentes estampados a la hora de vestir: rayas con flores, colores llamativos, cuadros con estampado tropical, … ¿quién decide qué prendas combinan con otras y cuales no? En mi caso lo decido yo misma. Es verdad que cuando más “atrevida” me vuelvo a la hora de vestir es en Septiembre o en Febrero, durante las Fashion Weeks, porque es el momento idóneo para ello. Mi estilo diario sabéis que es más casual y que se reduce cada vez más al blanco, negro, beige y gris. Pero es cierto también que el verano me anima a arriesgar más a la hora de vestir y los días que tengo algún evento importante me gusta jugar con mi armario combinando prendas totalmente diferentes. Porque, ¿quién hubiese pensando llevar una camisa de cuadros b&w con unos shorts tipo chandal de estampado floral? Ni yo misma me lo hubiese imaginado. Pero ¿a que viendo los resultados no queda tan mal? Al final lo que yo entiendo por moda es esto: crear, innovar, enseñar algo diferente, no lo típico que todos podemos llevar o que todos sabemos combinar.

Termino diciendo que me he sentido un poco triste o decepcionada estas últimas semanas con determinados comentarios y determinadas personas. Es verdad que esto cada día me hace más fuerte, pero seguiré sin entender nunca el por qué de meternos con la gente que no conocemos, gente que tiene sentimientos como todos. Al igual que no me gusta la gente a la que le das lo mejor de ti y acaban no por cogerte el brazo sino por casi ahogarte… En fin, de todo se aprende y está claro que la vida sigue. Y como siempre digo, todo pasa por algo así que seguiré centrándome en las cosas y personas que me aportan posibilidad y alegría a mi vida.

Good morning family!

I’m leaving my house right now for a shooting that I have today with L’Oreal and then I will go to Marbella with my dear friend Carlitos until Sunday. Stay tuned because I will show you everything that we are going to do there!

I want to know today your opinion about mixing different prints when it comes to dressing: stripes with flowers, flashy colors, checkered shirts with tropical print,… who decides which clothes combine with others ones and which ones don’t? In my case I decide it myself. It’s true that when I feel more like “daring” is usually in September or February, during the Fashion Weeks, because it’s the perfect time to do it. You know that my daily style is more casual and is day by day reduced to white, black, beige and gray. But it is also true that summer time makes me risk more when dressing and the days that I have some important event I like to play with my closet combining totally different clothes. Because, who would have worn a b&w plaid shirt with floral print sweat pants? I could not have imagined it myself. But seeing the results, is not bad at all… In the end what I understand by fashion is to create, to innovate, to show something different, not the typical combination of clothes that we all already know how to do it/wear it.

I end by saying that I have felt a little sad or disappointed these last few weeks with certain comments and certain people. It is true that this makes me stronger every day, but I will never understand why talk so hard to people that we do not know, people who have feelings like everyone else. The same way I do not like people to whom you give the best of you and they end up not just taking your arm but by almost drowning you… In conclusion, let’s learn every lesson and one thing is sure: life goes on. And as I always say, everything happens for a reason so I will continue focusing on the things and people that bring me happiness and good vibes only.
