Khaki dots over khaki stripes

¡Buenos días!

Siento el retraso en publicar el post de hoy pero he tenido bastante lío esta mañana… Además anoche en el afterwork de Yo Dona donde lo pasamos muy bien se nos hizo bastante tarde… ¡Pero aquí está lo prometido!

Como todavía seguimos con altas temperaturas pero mi moreno se va yendo por momentos, opté por un cómodo look para otro día más de trabajo. Los pantalones de este tipo que son o bien de seda o bien de algodón con un estilo mezclado entre pantalón de pijama y pantalón de chandal la verdad es que me encantan. Este de rayas mezcla dos de mis colores favoritos: el negro y el verde caqui. Por eso decidí combinarlo con un estampado totalmente diferente como son los lunares de este crop top pero siguiendo el mismo tono. Para dar algo de altura y estilizar la figura opté por mis sandalias negras con cuña tipo étnica en beige y negro. Mi nuevo mini bolso negro, unos anillos y un reloj dorado fueron mis accesorios. Las gafas dieron ese toque más moderno al outfit con el cristal de espejo en azul.

Morning my friends!

Sorry for the delay in posting today’s post but I’ve had a ver busy morning… Also last night at the Yo Dona afterwork we really had a funny time but we end up a little bit late… But here you have it!

As we are still with high temperatures at the city but my tan is going less day by day, I opted for a comfortable look for another working day. These kinda pants that are either silk or cotton with a mixed between pajama bottoms and tracksuit style pants are which I really love. This striped pants mix two of my favorite colors: black and khaki green. So I decided to combine them with a totally different print such as this dotted crop top in the same tone. To give some height and stylize my figure I opted for my black sandals with ethnic print in beige and black on the wedge. My new mini black handbag, some gold rings and watch were my accessories. The glasses gave the modern touch to the outfit with the blue mirror glass.

Easy does it

Menuda semanita llevo… ¡y eso que sólo es miércoles! Como muchos de vosotros habréis visto en mis redes sociales anoche no pude alargar más mi vista a la farmacia de mi casa (Farmacia Goya 19) donde mi tocaya Marta me preparó un “kit de rescate” para mis dolencias post-vacacionales.

Dicen que cuanto más sencilla es una mujer, más guapa… eso dicen, y yo me lo creo. Vuelvo a recurrir a mi mezcla de dos colores básicos, simples, que nunca pasarán de moda y con los que siempre me veo bien: blanco y negro. No me gusta mucho arreglarme a diario pero a veces con un poco de colorete, un tacón y un complemento adecuado podemos conseguir un look para ir a trabajar pero que sea cómodo y esté de moda.

Cuando vi este peto blanco aún sabiendo que me quedaría grande (yo uso XS y es la S, qué le voy a hacer tengo cuerpo de niña…) me lo compré porque pienso que lo voy a poder combinar fácilmente tanto en verano como en invierno. Esta es una de mis propuestas de verano pero dentro de poco os iré trayendo muchas más… Me puse un crop top negro debajo, mis sandalias negras con tiras y lazos y un bolso negro a modo de bandolera. Basándome en el título del propio post “Easy does it” opté simplemente por unas gafas de sol negras y un par de brazaletes de plata como complementos.

¿Qué os parece a vosotros la mezcla del blanco y negro a la hora de vestir? ¿Y qué opináis de los petos-falda?

What a terrible week I’m having… and today it’s only Wednesday! As many of you would have seen on my social networks last night I could not delay anymore my visit to the pharmacy (Goya 19’s Pharmacy) where my namesake Marta prepared me a “rescue kit” for my post-holiday illness.

It is said that the simplest a woman is, the more beautiful she is… so they say, and I believe it. Again I turn to my fav mix of two basic, simple colors that never will go out of style and that always suits me well: black and white. I don’t use to overdressed in my day a day but sometimes with a little blush, a heel and the correct complement you can get a cool look for a working day because is both comfortable and fashionable.

When I saw this white playsuit knowing that it wouldn’t suit me so well (I use XS and this is S, what can I do with my girly body…) I bought it because I think I’ll be able to easily combine it in summer but also in winter season. This is one of my proposals for summer time but soon I’ll be showing you some more ideas… I wore a black crop top underneath and my black sandals with straps and ties and a black mini bag as a shoulder bag. Based on the title of the post “Easy does it” I just chose my black sunglasses and a pair of silver bracelets as accessories.

City cowboy

Como os he ido comentando en los últimos posts la tendencia cowboy viene pisando fuerte esta temporada. Si el año pasado era un must tener una camisa de cuadros (más conocida como “camisa de leñador”) en nuestro armario este año son el ante, los flecos y los prints étnicos los que se llevan gran parte del protagonismo.

Ya sabéis que yo no soy fiel seguidora de cualquier tendencia. Si algo me gusta lo intento adaptar a mi estilo y me lo pongo como a mi me gusta, pero no llevo algo sólo porque sea una tendencia o todo el mundo lo lleve… En este sentido bien puedo afirmar que no soy ecléctica, pero tampoco me gustaría serlo. Me gusta tener un estilo propio y contaros cómo vivo yo la moda y cómo la combino. Por eso voy añadiendo complementos de este estilo cowboy a mis looks. ¿El toque de hoy? Este sombrero de ante marrón con cinta verde. ¿Qué opináis vosotros de esta nueva moda?

Y para luchar contra el calor de la capital pero siguiendo siempre un estilo clásico pero toques modernos como es el mío, decidí combinar el sombrero con un body negro con detalles de encaje, plumeti y seda, unos shorts vaqueros y unas slippers con estampado de leopardo. Como accesorios opté por un pequeño colgante con la m de Marta, un par de relojes pulsera y un maxi brazalete dorado. El bolso es una de mis últimas adquisiciones y ya me lo pongo tanto para mis looks diurnos como nocturnos.

As we have been discussing in the recent posts the cowboy trend is going strong this season. If last year was a must to have a plaid shirt (better known as “lumberjack shirt”) in our closet this year are suede, fringe and ethnic prints the trends that we will have to introduce in our outfits.

You already know that I’m not a faithful follower of any trend. If I like something I try to adapt it to my own style and I wear it as I like, but I don’t wear something just because it’s a trend or because everyone wear it… In this sense I can say that I’m not an eclectic woman but I don’t want to be either. I like to have my own style and tell/show you how I live fashion and how I combine it. So I’m adding this cowboy style with some complements to my daily looks. Today’s complement? This brown suede hat with green ribbon. What do you think about this new trend?

And to combat the heat of the capital but always following a classic style with modern touches I decided to combine this hat with a black body with lace, plumeti and silk details, a pair of denim shorts and my fav slippers with leopard print. As accessories I opted for a small necklace with the m of Marta, a pair of bracelet watches and a maxi gold bracelet. The bag is one of my latest acquisitions, and I wear it with both: my daily looks and to go out at night.

Back to work!

1 de Septiembre. Oficialmente se terminaron las vacaciones y la mayoría volvemos al trabajo, a la realidad. Todas las noches doy gracias a Dios de que para mi volver al trabajo sea algo positivo y alegre, aunque luego esté hasta arriba de cosas pero me encanta mi día a día, mi trabajo, la gente que forma parte de él… De verdad estoy muy agradecida por todo esto.

Y como volver al trabajo implica reuniones, clientes, etc. ya hay que ir pensando estilismos con los que vayamos a la última y que nos sirvan para ir a trabajar. Cuando vi este pantalón de pata de elefante pensé que era e perfecto para una reunión más arreglada. ¿A alguien se le ocurre por qué? Si si, porque aparte de ser un diseño que pienso que sienta bien a la mayoría de nosotras, es en blanco y negro, mi combinación favorita de colores. Por eso para que se llevase todo el protagonismo el pantalón lo combiné con un body negro de tirantes, un bolso color block en los mismos colores y mis mules negras. Como complementos opté por una chapa de plata muy especial para mi grabada con el nombre del blog “it girl” y unos brazaletes de plata también con el símbolo del infinito.

September the 1st. Officially the holidays are over and most of us are back to work, back to reality. Every night I thank God for my return to work because to me is something positive and happy. Even when I’m so busy that I’m about to literally die, I love my daily life, my work, the people around me who are part of it… I’m really very grateful.

And it’s also time to start again having meetings, clients, etc. and we have to start thinking about the new trends and outfits that we can wear to go to work. When I saw this elephant leg pants I thought it was perfect for a meeting day. Anyone know why? That is, because apart from being a design that I think it suits most of us well, it is in black and white, my favorite color combination. So to concentrate all the attention on the pants I combined them with a black body, my color block bag in the same colors and my black mules. As complements I opted for a special silver plate tag engraved with the name of the blog “it girl” and a silver bracelets with the infinity symbol.

What do you think about this look for a working day still with high temperatures?

Viñales, Cuba

Ya voy terminando los posts sobre mi viaje a Cuba… Este es otro de los destinos que visitamos. La zona de Viñales es en la que más excursiones se pueden realizar. Está a 1h y media en coche aproximadamente de La Habana.

Nada más llegar paramos a comer en un restaurante típico de allí. Como veis en las primeras fotos estábamos en medio de un bosque por el que apenas atravesaba una carretera mal asfaltada. La comida típica de allí suelse ser langosta que te sirven con varios tipos de ensaladas diferentes.

A continuación llegamos al Hotel Los Jazmines. Desde mi habitación podéis ver las vistas a todo el campo con la montaña y los mogotes. Realmente precioso. Por eso por la tarde decidimos hacer una excursión a caballo para poder indagar y conocer mejor el terreno. Es muy típico encontrarse a agricultores con sus bueyes o vacas.

Al día siguiente de camino a conocer una verdadera fábrica de tabaco paramos en este inmenso mural de pinturas de la prehistoria. Me quedé alucinada con la mezcla de colores que ya utilizaban y lo bien que representaban ya a las figuras y animales que veían.

La fábrica de tabaco era algo que me encantaba conocer. Fuimos a la de Eduardo Hernández que nos hizo un recorrido y nos explicó el proceso al completo. Después de recolectar las hojas de tabaco de dividen cuidadosamente por capas dejando unas para el interior del puro, otras para la capa media, otras para la capa exterior… Las hojas se almacenan según el tipo en estas pequeñas chozas donde se mantienen frescas y en un ambiente ligeramente humedecido.

Directamente desde la fábrica de tabaco nos fuimos a Las Cuevas del Indio. Tienen este nombre porque es donde se escondían los indios cuando veían desde la parte de arriba de las montañas que alguien venía a atacarles. Se realiza una parte a pie y otra parte en bote terminando a la salida de la cueva en unos restaurantes típicos de allí. Me encantaron sobre todo las estalactitas y estalagmitas y las que se han conseguido unir después de miles de años ya que cada una crece hacia arriba o hacia abajo sólo ¡2mm cada 100 años!

I’m almost ending my posts about my trip to Cuba… Today another destinations that we visited. Viñales, is an area where most tours can be done. It is an hour and a half’s drive away from La Habana.

When we were arriving we had lunch in a typical restaurant there. As you can see in the first pictures we were in the middle of a forest which just crossed a poorly paved road. The typical food there is the lobster being served with a variety of different salads.

Then we arrived at our Hotel, Los Jazmines. From my room you can see the view across the countryside with mountain and wooded hills called “mogotes”. Really amazing. So in the afternoon we decided to take a trip on horse to explore and learn more about the field. It is very typical to find farmers with their oxen or cows.

The next day in our way to discover a real snuff factory we stopped at this huge mural with paintings of prehistory. I was amazed with the mixture of colors that they used and how well they represented all the figures and animals they saw.

Tobacco factory was something I really loved to know. We went to Eduardo Hernández factory and he made us a tour and explained the complete process of how to do a unadulterated pure. After collecting snuff leaves they are divided carefully layered from the inside to do a pure. Some leaves are use for the inside, others for the middle layer, the other for the outer layer… The leaves are stored by type in these small huts where they are kept cool and in a damp environment.

Directly from the snuff factory we went to Las Cuevas del Indio. They received this name because it is where the Indians were hiding when they saw from the top of the mountains that someone was coming to attack them. Yo go walking and then in a boat to get out of the cave where there were some typical restaurants. I especially loved the stalactites and stalagmites because they are united after thousands of years because they only grow up 2mm every 100 years!

Hippie chic bag

¡Cómo me gusta encontrar en un sólo accesorio varias de las tendencias que han arrasado esta temporada! Eso es lo que pensé cuando descubrí estos bolsos que os traigo en el videoshopping de hoy.

Los flecos han sido una clara tendencia top este verano que se seguirá manteniendo este invierno como hemos visto en las editoriales de las revistas más importantes e incluso en la presentación de las nuevas colecciones de marcas de lujo como Chanel (ha dedicado una colección completa a la tendencia cowboy).

Por otra parte el estampado étnico también ha ido ganando protagonismo este verano y ya he visto cómo en invierno también continúa apareciendo en accesorios como pañuelos y bolsos y en detalles de prendas.

Yo os propongo dos formas muy diferentes de combinar estos bolsos pero por supuesto podéis combinarlos como vosotras queráis. Una es con un look más casual y desenfadado: un peto vaquero con un crop top y unas zapatillas. Otra es un outfit más arreglado para una ocasión más especial con un vestido de lentejuelas negro y con un zapato de tacón.

I really like finding an accessory that represent some trends that are hitting hard this season! That’s what I thought when I found these bags that I show you in today’s videoshopping.

Fringes have been a clear top trend this summer and that will continue also this winter as we have seen in many editorials of the most important magazines and even in the presentation of new collections from luxury brands such as Chanel (it has dedicated an entire collection to the cowboy trend).

Moreover, the ethnic print also has gained many followers this season and I have already seen it in winter clothes so it will also continue to appear in accessories like scarves and bags and cloth details.

I propose you two different ways of combining these bags but of course you can combine them as you like it. One is a more casual and sporty look: a denim overalls with a crop top and sneakers. Another option is a more elegant outfit for a special occasion with a sequined black dress and a high heel shoe.

Aquamarine sights

¡Hola viernes! Aunque me gusta mucho mi trabajo si que agradezco, y más habiendo vuelto esta semana de vacaciones, que llegue ya el fin de semana para poder descansar un poco y volver a coger fuerzas para una nueva semana.

Muchas veces me gusta salir de mi tendencia favorita del black and white y dar un toque de color a mis estilismos. Intento que sean colores que me gusten pero que a la vez me favorezcan como el mostaza, el rosa bebé o este azul turquesa de hoy.

Ya conocéis mi pasión por los zapatos blucher. Los tengo en miles de colores y modelos (negros, marrones, burdeos, plateados…). Por eso saqué estos del armario y necesitaba una camiseta con la que combinarlos. Como en mi último día de compras antes de las vacaciones me compré esta camisa de estampado étnico que lleva un tono azul bebé en el dibujo opté por ella para combinarla con el calzado. Como parte de abajo unos shorts negros estilo lencero que tanto han arrasado este verano. Mi clutch hippie con colores pastel y bordados dorados y mi reloj blanco con esfera en los mismos tonos fueron mis complementos elegidos.

Hello Friday! Although I really like my job I do appreciate the weekend (even more when I just arrived from my holidays) to can relax and rest and get ready for back to work on monday.

Sometimes I like to leave my favorite trend of black and white and add a touch of color to my outfits. I use to try other colors that I like but that also suits me well like mustard, baby pink or the aquamarine that I’m wearing today.

You already know my passion for blucher shoes. I have them in many colors (black, brown, burgundy, silver…)and models. So I got these from my closet and I needed a shirt to combine them. As in my last day of shopping before the holidays I bought this shirt with ethnic print that has a baby blue tone in the drawing I chose it to combine with my shoes. I was wearing my black shorts with lace details that have been a must for this summer. My hippie clutch with gold embroidery and pastel colors and my white maxi watch with dial in the same tones were my chosen accessories.

Rocking the Meow!

De nuevo vuelta a la rutina. Para mis reuniones de ayer, que además fue un día bastante largo, me apetecía verme arreglada y guapa después de unas vacaciones tan relajadas y de turismo como las que he tenido.

Por eso decidí ponerme una mini falda de cuero negra que es un color serio para los meetings pero las cremalleras le daban el toque moderno. Mi camiseta de ‘Meow’ que me encanta y que no sólo las new yorkers llevan con estilo. Creo que la combinación blanco o beige con negro sabéis de sobre que es una de mis favoritas. Y llevaba tiempo queriendo estrenar estos zapatos que os enseñé en mis redes sociales y ayer fue el mejor día para ello. Están hechos completamente por mi misma. Escogí un modelo peeptoe porque me parecen más cómodos y también más sexy que se vean los dedos. Los estampados de animales me vuelven loca por eso esta vez quise combinar el de serpiente pero en dos colores: natural con burdeos, ¿qué os parece mi elección? Como accesorios opté por mis dos relojes Pepito (de calavera y de corazón con cristales de Swarovski) y unos anillos finos. El bolso del búho de lentejuelas es de mis últimas adquisiciones nada más llegar a Madrid y creo que le voy a sacar bastante rentabilidad…

Ya sólo queda un día para el finde, ¡ánimo!

Already back to the routine. To my yesterday meetings, which was also a long and busy day, I wanted to feel more elegant and sexy after the relaxing and tourism holidays that I’ve had.

So I decided to wear a black leather mini skirt which is a serious color for the meetings but the silver zippers gave the modern touch. My ‘Meow’ tee that I love and not only new yorkers rock it he he. I think that the combination of white or beige with black you already know that is one of my favs. And I’ve been waiting for a long time to wear for the first time these shoes that I showed you on my social networks and yesterday for sure was the best day to do it. They are made entirely by myself. I chose a peep toe model because it is more comfortable and also sexy showing the fingers . And you also know that I’m mad about animal prints so this time I wanted to combine the snake print but in two different colors: natural with burgundy, what you think about my choice? As accessories I chose my two Pepito watches (skull and heart with Swarovski crystals) and thin rings. The sequin owl clutch is one of my latest acquisitions since I came back to Madrid and I’m already thinking about a lot of posible combinations with my clothes…

Las Terrazas, Cuba

¿Siguiente parada de nuestro viaje a Cuba? Las Terrazas. Es un pueblo de montaña situado a unos 120km de La Habana. Es muy fácil llegar porque sólo hay un par de carreteras principales.

Nos alojamos en el hotel más bonito de esa zona y que es bastante barato: Hotel Moka. Como veis tiene unas vistas preciosas a todo el paisaje desde la cima de la montaña. También tiene piscina y varios bares y restaurantes. Una de las cosas que más me gustó de las habitaciones fue despertarme con esa cristalera enorme con vistas a todo el paisaje.

Las actividades obligatorias en esta zona son los baños de San Juan que son pequeñas piscinas naturales que surgieron entre las montañas, recorrer el pueblo para ver las vistas y las casas de colores e incluso el bar que veis en las fotos donde se toma algo dentro del agua y la tirolina. Como veis en la última foto me animé a hacer tirolina por este frondoso bosque. ¡Fue muy divertido! Podéis contratar o 6 tramos o 3. Yo cogí el recorrido de 6 tramos porque el de 3 se hace muy corto. Es alucinante pasar por encima de los árboles, lagos, etc. os lo recomiendo sin falta.

Una vez más opté por ir lo más cómoda posible. Escogí un crop top de lunares grandes, un mono verde khaki y las sandalias planas que ya habéis visto que llevé a este viaje.

¿Y cómo han ido vuestras vacaciones? Yo ya de vuelta por Madrid con mucho trabajo y nuevos proyectos para el blog que os iré contando pero muy contenta y con muchas ganas ¡como siempre!

Next stop in our trip to Cuba? Las Terrazas. It is a mountain village located about 120km from La Habana. It is very easy to arrive because there are only a few main roads in Cuba.

We stayed at the nicest hotel in the area and it’s pretty cheap too: Hotel Moka. As you can see in the pics it has lovely views over the landscape from the top of the mountain. It also has a swimming pool and some bars and restaurants. One of the things I liked most of the rooms was waking up to the huge glass overlooking the landscape.

Mandatory activities in this area are going to San Juan’s baths which are small natural pools created in the middle of the mountains, stroll around the town to see the sights and the colorful houses and even the fabulous bar that you see in the photos where you can drink something in the water and the zip line. As you see in the last photo I loved to do this lush forest zip line.It was so funny! You can hire 3 or 6 flights. I took the pack of 6 sections because the 3 one is very short in time. It was amazing to pass through climbs over trees, lakes, etc. I recommend it without doubt.

Once again I opted to go as comfortable as possible. I chose a dotted crop top a a khaki green playsuit with the flat studded sandals that you have already seen me in this trip.

And what about your holidays? I’m already back in Madrid with many work and new projects to do that I’ll be telling you, but very happy and looking forward it, as ever!

La Habana, Cuba (part II)

Segundo día en La Habana. Seguimos con un calor bochornoso así que lo mejor es ponerse ropa cómoda y es importante llevar sandalias o zapatos abiertos; el zapato cerrado os puede provocar heridas.

Estas primeras fotos son en los jardines de la casa en la que dormimos. Es una casa Sacerdotal que se encuentra en la esquina de las calles A con la 25 y como veis es un lugar muy silencioso a la par que muy tradicional. Tiene un patio interior con plantas de todo tipo y alrededor en forma de cuadrado se disponen las habitaciones, la biblioteca, el comedor, la Iglesia, el colegio… Uno de mis momentos favoritos del día era cuando llegábamos a descansar y me sentaba en estas hamacas a leer, ¡qué paz! (sobre todo porque como os dije en el anterior post sobre Cuba allí no tienen wifi en ningún sitio, sólo en un par de hoteles españoles, así que realmente estos días conseguí desconectar del todo del mundo por primera vez en años…).

Como outfit escogí unos shorts negros con detalles de encaje en el borde, una camisa bordada en beige semitransparente estilo crop top y unas sandalias negras de flecos que rescaté de mi fondo de armario específicamente para este viaje. ¿Qué os parece esta combinación?

Las últimas fotos del post son del siguiente día donde cogimos un coche y nos dirigimos a conocer la zona de Las Terrazas. Fue una experiencia muy divertida que os seguiré contando en el siguiente capítulo he he.

Second day in La Habana. It also was a terrible warm day so it is best to wear comfortable clothing and it is important to wear sandals or open-toed shoes; closed shoe can seriously hurt you.

These first photos were taken in the gardens of the house where we slept. Is a Priestly house located on the corner of A with 25 street and as you can see that is very quiet and at the same time a very traditional place. It has an inner courtyard with many plants and flowers of all kinds and around it making a square you can find the rooms, the library, the dining room, the church, a school… One of my favorite moments of the day was when we arrived to rest and I sat in these hammocks to read, what a peaceful place! (mostly because as I said in the previous post about Cuba there are no wifi anywhere, just in a couple of Spanish hotels, so I really could got off of the world these days for the first time in years …).

As outfit I chose a pair of black shorts with lace on the edge, a beige embroidered shirt crop top style and my black fringed sandals that I rescued from my wardrobe specifically for this trip. What do you think about this combination?

Latest pics of the post are from the next day where we rent a car and we headed to discover Las Terrazas. It was a funny experience that I will continue telling you in the next chapter he he.
