¡Hola hola desde Nueva York!

Ya estamos por aquí, con un frío la verdad que impresionante, porque según las noticias no venía una ola de frío tan fuerte desde el año 1.947, pero estamos disfrutando al máximo como siempre y como os voy contando a través de mis redes sociales.

Como sabéis estoy con mi amiga Bea que sale conmigo en estas divertidas fotos y aquí nos hemos encontrado con varias amigas bloggers también, así que ¡nos lo estamos pasando genial!

El primer día que llegamos, como ya no llegamos a tiempo de asistir a dos de los desfiles que nos habían invitado, decidimos irnos de compras… ¡muy de mujeres esto! haha. Yo hice parada obligatoria en Victoria’s Secret porque al no tenerlo en Madrid siempre me gusta poder llevarme alguna de sus cosas ya que a mi al menos me sientan muy bien.

No voy a entrar en el tema de la ropa. Evidentemente a un desfile no voy a ir con botas como las que llevo en este look por ejemplo. Claro que se puede si, pero yo no lo voy a hacer. Como me gusta enseñaros todo por eso lo hago. Podría ir al desfile con mi abrigo de pelo y no quitármelo en medio de la calle a menos 17 grados para no enseñaros lo que llevo debajo y luego acabar con fiebre como anoche, pero lo hago si, es parte de mi trabajo y se que a la mayoría os gusta y como me llevo bien con casi todos vosotros y me hacéis muy feliz por apoyarme todos los días y dejarme comentarios tan bonitos pues lo hago muy alegremente. A los desfiles vamos en taxi del hotel al sitio y del sitio al hotel, y luego ya nos recorremos la ciudad con looks como este, abrigados, y yendo en metro.

Mañana os cuento el primer día de desfiles que hemos tenido.

¡Que paséis un buen domingo y día de San Valentín! Que como dije ayer, es el día del AMOR. No tiene por qué ser amor de pareja, aunque así se inventase, yo celebro el amor a mi familia, a mis amigos y a todos vosotros. <3

Hello from New York City!

We’re here with a really low temperatures because according to the news it did not come a cold wave such as this one since 1947, OMG! But we are enjoying everything the same as I am telling you through my social networks.

As you know I am with my friend Bea who appears with me in these funny pictures and here we have met some other friends bloggers too, so we’re having great days!

The first day we arrived, as we no longer had time to attend two shows that invited us, we decided to go shopping… very women thing! haha. I made a mandatory stop at Victoria’s Secret store because as we do not have it in Madrid I always like to take some of their clothes as they suit me so well.

I will not get into the issue of the clothes I’m wearing. Obviously to a fashion show I will not go wearing these kind of boots. Of course you can do it if you want, there’s no dress code, but I’m not going to do it. I could have gone to the show with my fur coat and not taking it off in the middle of the street with at least 17 degrees below zero to show you what I was wearing under and then finish the day with fever at night, but I did it yes, it’s part of my work and I know that that most of you like it. One more time thank you because I’m happy for all your support, every day, and for leaving me so lovely comments. To the shows obviously we go by taxi from our hotel to the place and then to the place back to the hotel. The rest of the day then we we walk the streets or go by underground which is a quick and easy way to discover NYC.

Tomorrow I will tell you the first day of fashion shows we had.

¿Quién nos iba a decir que vestiríamos en nuestro día a día con chaquetas de smoking y con un look tan moderno y roquero como este, verdad?

Pues eso os enseño en el look de hoy. Llevo una chaqueta de smoking en raso azul marino con cuellos en cuero negros. Otra combinación que nunca pensamos, ¿o no? Negro con azul marino… pues yo viendo los resultados del outfit de hoy creo que me encanta cómo combinan. Debajo llevo una camiseta básica gris, ya sabéis por lo del “menos es más”, y unos leggings de cuero negros de hace varios años. Como calzado escogí unos de mis botines favoritos de este año: negros de ante con plataforma de goma. No te resbalas con ellos y además la plataforma de delante hace que sean comodísimos. Este tipo de calzado es un ‘must’ esta temporada.

Y os cuento que he comenzado otra nueva sección en Non Stop People donde cada martes os haré una pregunta sobre cómo vestir para determinado momento o evento. Si me mandáis vuestras fotos a través de Twitter mencionándome @Marta_Carriedo y con el #LookCelebrityNSP os sacaré en directo en la sección y alguno de vosotros podrá venir algún día a presentarla conmigo. ¿Qué os parece la idea? ¡Espero que participéis aunque sea para poder sacaros en imágenes! Y la pregunta para el martes que viene es: ¿cómo te vestirías para la cena de Navidad con tu familia? ¡Ojo! Que es con vuestra familia, no con amigos o para ir de fiesta… ¡Estoy deseando ver vuestros looks que ya he visto algunos que me habéis enviado!

Would you ever have thought that we will wear in our daily looks smoking jackets with such a modern and rocker look  like this?

So this is what I show you on today’s look. I’m wearing a smoking jacket in satin navy blue with black leather edges. Black with navy blue… A strange combination that we never thought, right? But looking at the results of the outfit I think I like how they match together. Under I’m wearing a basic gray t-shirt, you know that “less is more”, and a black leather leggings from some years ago. As shoes I chose one of my favourite bootie froms this year: black suede with rubber platform. They are perfect for the rainy days and also the front platform makes them very comfy. This kind of footwear are really a ‘must’ this season.

And now I want to tell you that I have started a new section to the TV channel where I work: Non Stop People. Every Tuesday night I will make you a question about how to dress for a specific moment or event. If you send me your photos via twitter tagging me @Marta_Carriedo and #LookCelebrityNSP I will show your pics live on this section and one of you may someday can come with me to present the show. Tercer y último video post donde os cuento más historias de mi divertido viaje a Lisboa… esta vez fuimos a visitar Sintra, ¡no he conocido un lugar así en mi vida!

Me habían avisado de que tanto el Castillo da Pena como los jardines de alrededor eran impresionantemente bonitos pero nunca me imaginé que me iba a sorprender tanto. Desde el primer momento en que llegamos a Sintra y comenzamos a subir en coche esta carretera que veis en las fotos y vídeo atravesando este frondoso bosque y en pleno contacto con la naturaleza me di cuenta de por qué se habían grabado aquí tantas películas… ¡parecía sacado de un cuento!

Y evidentemente me sorprendió aún más llegar hasta el famoso Castillo da Pena después de una subida cuesta arriba de 15 minutos caminando y encontrarme este castillo medieval pintado de mil colores y con tejas de diferentes dibujos, ¡¿bonito o no?! Os prometo que al menos yo no había visto un castillo así, ni si quiera el de Disney de DisneyLand París hahaha. Después de la visita por sus habitaciones y pasillos que podéis ver en el vídeo llegó la hora de seguir descubriendo la magia de esta zona: los jardines inmensos. No creo que nos diese tiempo de visitar ni si quiera una tercera parte pero desde luego como podéis ver lo que vi fue alucinante. Ríos, árboles y plantas de todo tipo porque el rey que vivía allí mandó que trajesen semillas de todos los países y continentes, puentes de piedra, cisnes blancos… ¡y negros!… en fin, de verdad que para mi fue una excursión de cuento.

Para este tipo de excursión escogí unos leggings de cuero negros, unas zapatillas de bota con estampado de leopardo, una sudadera y una trenca verde para el frío.

Third and last video post on my blog with more stories from my funny trip to Lisbon last weekend… this time talk to you about Sintra, I really have not been in such a charmed place like this before!

Although they had told me about how beautiful it was Pena’s Castle and all the surrounding gardens I just never imagined it was going to surprise me so much. From the first moment that we arrived to Sintra, a small village next to Lisboa (like 20 minutes driving)  we were exhausted. We began to climb up driving through this road that you can see in the photos and video through this lush forest and in full contact with nature, at that moment I realized why it had been the scenery for many important movies… it really seems like you are in a fairy tale!

And obviously what surprised me even more was to reach to the top of the famous Pena’s Castle after a walk of 15 minutes climbing and find this medieval castle painted in a thousand colors and tiles of different drawings! Doesn’t it amazing?! I promise you that I had not seen a castle like this before, not even the Disney Castle from DisneyLand Paris hahaha. After the tour inside it, visiting the rooms and corridors which you can see in the video it was time to continue discovering the magic of this area: the immense gardens. I do not think we had time to visit even a third part of them but certainly as you can see below everything what we saw was amazing. Rivers, trees and plants of all kinds because the king who lived there commanded to bring seeds from all countries and continents, stone bridges, white and even black swans!… Well, really to me it was a perfect day in a wonderful place. 

For this kind of day I chose a black leather leggings, my bootie slippers with leopard print, a white sweatshirt and a green trench coat for the cold moments.

Desde el momento en el que vi estas zapatillas en un shooting que tuve el lunes la verdad es que me enamoré de ellas. Y cual fue mi sorpresa cuando pude ir a buscarlas y vi que las había en blancas pero también en plateadas… Como tengo varias sneakers en blanco así que me arriesgué y me decidí por las plateadas, ¿qué os parecen a vosotros?

Ya sabéis que soy muy fan de los mensajes en la ropa ya sea en chaquetas, camisetas, bolsos… y por supuesto también en el calzado. Creo que hoy tiene una enseñanza clara: “Start” empezar de nuevo y “Stop” parar. Dado el ritmo de vida que llevamos creo que muchas veces no olvidamos de parar, recapacitar y recapitular lo que hemos hecho hasta ahora y hacia dónde queremos ir, y luego ya volver a empezar nuestro camino basándonos en esas conclusiones. Y yo pienso que ¡qué mejor que verlo en mis propios pies que son los que me llevan a todas partes!

Quise combinar estas zapatillas con los mismos colores por eso opté por unos leggings de cuero negros, una camiseta de rayas, y mi abrigo largo negro con detalles en cuero. También sabéis que soy fan de los sombreros y más en estas época así que hoy llevo uno negro y azul marino y un bolso bandolera también negro.

Comenzamos nuevo día con la pilas cargadas, ¡besos a todos!

From the first moment that I saw these sneakers in a shooting that I had on Monday the truth is that I fell in love automatically. And what surprised me more was when I could go to the store and I saw this model in white but also in silver… As I have many white sneakers I decided to risk a little bit more and bet for the silver ones, do you like them?

You know I am a super fan of clear messages on clothing either in jackets, shirts, bags… and of course in footwear. I think that today we have a clear instruction: “Start” to start from the beginning and “Stop” to sometimes stop in life. As we live in a world continuously moving I think that we don’t have time often to stop, reflect and recap what we have done so far and where we really want to go, and then start again our way based on these thoughts. So what’s better than to see it on your own feet which take you everywhere!

I wanted to combine these shoes with the same colors so I opted for a black leather leggings, a striped shirt and my black long coat with leather accents. You also know that I’m a hats lover and more in these winter days so today I took one in black and navy blue and I was wearing also a black shoulder bag.

Let’s start a new day with full battery and energy, a lot of kisses!

¡Buenos días!

Comenzamos nueva semana cargada de muchas y buenas noticias que os iré contando y que estoy segura de que os van a gustar tanto como a mi.

Y he querido comenzar por un descubrimiento muy especial… como ya sabéis soy una chica inquieta y me encanta descubrir nuevas firmas para encontrar cositas especiales y diferentes que combinen con mi propio estilo, os voy a hablar de un descubrimiento muy especial para mí y es la firma de joyas Lepagón. Y cuál fue mi sorpresa al descubrir que esta firma liderada por una joven arquitecta hacía joyas completamente diferentes a las que yo había visto hasta ahora, y además todas ellas hechas a mano. Sus diseños arquitectónicos, la mezcla de oro y plata en una misma joya, los cuidadosos acabados en joyas finas que tienen siempre algún significado, … Todo esto hace que se conviertan en joyas muy elegantes acordes con mi estilo y además muy atemporales, por lo que se pueden llevar en cualquier momento del día y de la noche.

En este caso las he combinado con un look muy sencillo de estilo parisino, que es a lo que me recuerdan estas especiales piezas. Llevo una camiseta básica blanca, unos jeans de cuero negros y una chaqueta oversize en gris oscuro (de hecho es de hombre, sabéis que me encanta llevar ropa ancha de ellos) con mis oxfords negros que también conocéis. El toque de color lo conseguí con el bolso rojo de tachuelas doradas junto con las pulseras de colores y piedras semipreciosas de la firma. Al ser tan finas y con hilos de tantos colores (y además baratísimas) a mi me gusta ponerme muchas juntas para que el efecto visual sea más colorido y bonito.

Y vosotros, ¿os atrevéis a romper con lo convencional y a crear tendencias en vez de seguirlas?

Morning world!

Let’s start a new week full of new and good notices that I will be telling you here. Hope you like and enjoy them as much as me!

And I wanted to start with a very special discovery to me… as you already know I’m a non stop woman and I love discovering new brands to find special and different little things that I could combine with my own style, so I’m going to talk to you about a very special one to me. It is called Lepagón and is a cool and ‘new born’ jewellery firm. And the best surprise to me was to discover that this brand is lead by a young architect woman who made completely different piecs than I had seen before, and furthermore all of them are handmade! Her architectural designs, the mix of gold and silver in the same jewel, carefully finished in thin jewelry that will always mean something special… All this makes them become a very stylish jewelry line matching with my style and also timeless, so we can worn them at anytime of the day or night and in any season. 

Today I have combined this cool jewels with a very simple look Parisian style, which is what these special pieces remember me of. I was wearing a basic white shirt, my black leather leggings and an oversize dark gray jacket (actually is man collection, you know that I love to wear baggy clothes from him) all combined with my black oxfords. The touch of color came with my red bag with golden studs and all these colourful bracelets with many different gemstones. Being so thin you can wear at the same time many colors (and also because of the cheap price) so I like to wear many together for the visual effect, more colorful and beautiful.

And what about you, don’t you want to “break the rules” and create new trends instead of following them?

Como os he comentado en más de una ocasión me gusta mucho ser “camaleónica” a la hora de vestir y poder adaptar cualquier tendencia a mi estilo. Hoy me apetecía darle un toque más roquero a mi outfit, ¿qué os parece el resultado?Que las cazadoras de cuero son un must en cualquier armario no cabe ninguna duda. Que levante la mano el que no tenga una. Pero hay “cazadoras” y cazadoras. Esta que llevo hoy la incluyo en el segundo grupo. Es de piel pero lo que más me gusta son todos sus detalles en plata: las tachuelas, las cremalleras y por supuesto el cinturón ancho. Muy roquera y además muy trendy. Para no romper con el negro y el cuero decidí ponerme mis leggings a juego. El toque de color lo conseguí con una maxi camisa en color verde militar con detalles en plata en los hombros. Como calzado mis botines de piel con hebillas también en plata, me gusta el detalle de la parte interior del tacón en espejo. Mi bolso color-blocked en blanco y negro que es mi preferido de este invierno. El único accesorio que llevo es mi reloj Pepito que no me canso de ponérmelo porque más que un reloj para mi es como llevar una pulsera fina así que no me molesta nada en mi día a día (que ya sabéis que soy de pocos accesorios).

Ayer tuvieron lugar en Madrid unos foros sobre marketing aplicado a la moda, llamados Marketing Thinkers. Se realizaron en el Centro de Innovación del BBVA y estuvieron patrocinados por Mujerhoy.com.

Yo tuve el privilegio de ser una de las ponentes en calidad de blogger junto con la también blogger y periodista de moda Gemma Cano (shopping philosophy). Ambas contamos nuestras experiencias y las claves para trabajar con las distintas firmas, para desarrollar un blog y que tenga éxito, cómo cuidar la imagen que lleva asociada, cómo se vive la relación blogger-usuario, etc. Desde mi punto de vista y por los comentarios que recibimos a la salida, creo que fue bastante interesante.

Mucha gente cree que un blog es hacerse 5 fotos cada día y colgarlas aquí, pero os aseguro que hay mucho más trabajo detrás, al menos en mi caso. Así que os voy a contar brevemente qué es lo que yo hago actualmente.

A parte del blog ya sabéis que ahora estoy diseñando el vestuario para una ópera que se estrenará el 20 de Diciembre en Madird; además las fotos de cada post diario tienen que ser editadas y reducidas de tamaño de una en una para colgarlas aquí porque sino pesarían demasiado; hay que saber redactar y escribir sobre lo que se habla, y con propiedad y el lenguaje apropiado; las reuniones con firmas nuevas que me proponen colaboraciones me suelen llenar todas las mañanas hasta que llegamos a un acuerdo; y ya por no hablar de ponencias o eventos a los que asisto (y yo encantada eh) que también me llevan su tiempo organizarlos y preparar todo. Aparte está la faceta más de ‘imagen’. Los lookbooks para las firmas que les gusta mi estilo o los reportajes/entrevistas de moda suelen llevar casi todo el día de shooting (porque primero te maquillan, luego te cambian de vestuario varias veces, no consigues poner la pose que ellos buscan…), sin contar los días de cada semana que grabo los videoshopping para mi sección “Shopping” como personal stylist de Lusstra donde os muestro ideas y productos muy trendy y a precios asequibles pero que tardamos entre 1 y 2h ¡por vídeo! Por último (aunque seguro que algo me he dejado en el tintero), sabéis que tengo una tienda online donde vendo mi ropa que podéis ver AQUÍ, esto también me lleva mucho tiempo tener todos los pedidos al día y la web actualizada y ordenada… Así que espero que ahora entendáis por qué voy todo el día corriendo y estresada jeje.

Bueno, espero haber dejado esto claro para las que me preguntáis que en qué consiste el trabajo de una blogger (esto es lo que yo hago no se lo que harán las demás, pero cuando dejé dos trabajos con sueldo fijo y en buenas empresas no lo hice simplemente por colgar unas fotos cada día, me esfuerzo en ir consiguiendo trabajos y desarrollando alternativas diferentes relacionadas todas con la moda que es lo que me gusta).

El look que escogí para estas ponencias fue el que el día me permitió. Estaba cerca de mi casa pero la lluvia me impidió ponerme mi segunda alternativa. Me puse mis leggings de cuero para ir calentita, una camisa vaquera que aportase ese toque más informal al outfit ya que encima me puse una de mis blazers favoritas de cuadros que daba más seriedad.  Mi inseparable bolso bicolor y mis stilettos negros con tachuelas y lazo fueron mis únicos complementos. ¿Qué os parece mi elección?

En las fotos de abajo del todo salgo: en la primera con Ana, representante de Mujerhoy.com y presentadora de mi ponencia, así como Gemma mi compi blogger. Ana es compañera mía del cole de toda la vida y cuando me llamó para esto me hizo mucha ilusión volver a reencontrarme con ella. A Gemma no la conocía personalmente pero estoy segura de que nos vamos a llevar muy bien y coincidiremos en muchos eventos…

En la última foto salgo con mi amigo Adri (salió en la sección de ‘It Boy‘ AQUÍ), y dos de mis súper seguidoras que me hizo muchíiisima ilusión conocer: Leti y María. ¡Muchas gracias a los tres por venir y apoyarme!

Y aunque no salga en las fotos y casi nunca la mencione (gran error mío) quiero agradecerle especialmente hoy a mi madre su apoyo incondicional, sus palabras siempre buenas y con amor hacia mí, el ayudarme cada día a seguir adelante con todo esto que hay días que se ve todo más gris, el haber estado y estar siempre SIEMPRE que la necesito, y podría seguir con una lista interminable… ¡Eres mi mejor amiga más que mi madre y te quiero muchísimo! (siento ser tan “cursi” pero creo que se merece esto y mucho más, los que tenéis la suerte de conocerla estaréis de acuerdo conmigo). <3
