Mixing soft colors

¡Buenos días! Víspera del día de Navidad y yo sigo a tope terminando todo el trabajo que tengo estos días para poder descansar el fin de semana por fin en nuestro paraíso español: las Islas Canarias. Los que estéis por Las Palmas que sepáis que estaré hasta el 28 por ahí.

Ya sabéis que no puedo evitar de vez en cuando dar un poco de color a mis looks con colores claritos que creo que alegran cualquier día. En este caso además voy bastante abrigada con este jersey de lana gorda y cuello vuelto, en rosa clarito, que lo escogí para que fuese a juego con los detalles de mis nuevas zapatillas. La verdad es que es una comodidad ir en zapatillas a diario, me encanta y además creo que podemos ir perfectamente sin calcetines, yo os prometo que no paso tanto frío… hehe. Llevo jeans blancos ajustado y una cazadora vaquera por encima, estilo oversize como a mi me gusta. Cada día cuando me ducho y me meto en mi vestidor para vestirme me gusta optar por ir lo más sencilla y cómoda posible, ya me conocéis.

Os voy deseando ya unas felices fiestas y que mañana Papa Noel se porte bien con vosotros… ¡con los que hayáis sido buenos! haha.

Good Morning! So the day before Christmas and I’m still finishing all the work that I have these days to finally can rest during the weekend at our Spanish paradise: the Canary Islands. Those of you from Las Palmas take note that I’ll be there until Monday 28 and I want to meet you there!

You know that I can not avoid occasionally give a touch of color to my looks with soft colors, I think that they give light to any winter day. In this case I’m also quite warm with this fat wool turtleneck sweater in soft pink, that I chose to match with the details of my new sneakers. The truth is that it I really like these kind of shoes to go comfy every day, I love it and I also believe that we can go perfectly without socks, I promise you that in Madrid is not too cold… hehe. I’m wearing skinny white jeans and a denim jacket over, oversize style as I like them. Every day after taking my shower I get into my closet to dress as easy and comfortable as possible, you know that this is the style I like to run from one place to another in my day a days.

I already want to wish you a merry Christmas and that Santa brings you tomorrow many presents … just in case that you have been good guys! haha.

National Lottery Day

22 de Diciembre. Día de la Lotería Nacional.

Y yo me despertaba de pequeña preguntando a mi padre: “papi papi, ¿ya somos ricos?”, evidentemente sin tener mucha noción ni de lo que era El Gordo ni de ser consciente de que en realidad ya tenía la mayor suerte de todas que es tener una familia increíble, salud y un hogar.

Pero también tengo que decir que hoy, años después de aquellos inocentes momentos, sigo comprando la Lotería si. Y no con ánimo de que me toque sino porque es otra parte bonita de la Navidad que nos da ilusión y alegría, aunque no nos toque, y todos encendemos hoy el televisor para escuchar a los niños de San Ildefonso cantar los números premiados. En fin, seguro que el premio como suele pasar la mayoría de las veces, se ha repartido entre a gente que más lo necesita. Eso es lo más justo.

Y aunque estemos en pleno Diciembre parece que el frío no termina de llegar, al menos a la capital. Por eso yo siempre que puedo me ‘libero’ del abrigo y salgo cómoda y sencilla. Unos vaqueros ajustados con unas zapatillas, una camisa blanca y una chaqueta de lana gorda es algo que todos tenemos en nuestro armario y desde mi punto de vista es una apuesta segura para un día más casual.

Y como me habéis preguntado os cuento que no he grabado vlogmas estos dos o tres días pasados por algunos motivos que os contaré en unas horas en el vlogmas de hoy…

December 22. National Lottery Day.

And when I was little I used to wake up asking my father: “Daddy Daddy, are we already rich?” obviously without much notion or what was the meaning of El Gordo (the name of the first prize) or without realising that we already had the greatest luck of all which is to have an incredible family, health and a home.

But I have to say that nowadays, years after those innocent times, I still buy lottery myself. Not wishing to win anything but because is another beautiful part of Christmas time and it gives us hope and joy, although we do not earn nothing, and all of us would have wake up this morning and turn on the TV to listen to the amazing San Ildefonso children singing the winning numbers. Anyway, as usually surely the prize has gone to those who really needed it, divided between people who need it most. That’s only fair.

Although we are in the middle of December it seems that the real cold is not reaching yet, at least to the capital of Spain. So always that I can I ‘liberate’ myself from the coat and go comfy and wearing basics. Skinny jeans with sneakers, a white shirt and a wool jacket is something we all have in our closet and from my point of view is a safe bet for a casual day.

And as you have asked me through my social networks I tell you that I have not recorded vlogmas these past two or three days for some reasons that I will tell you in a few hours in today’s vlogmas…

A jewel for Xmas

¡Buenos días!

Comenzamos la semana de Navidad y la penúltima del año… ¡qué nervios!

Y qué mejor forma de celebrar la Navidad que con un regalito para vosotros… Pero no un regalo cualquiera no, una joya única que guardaréis para siempre. Podéis participar hasta el día 24 simplemente contestando a una sencilla pregunta que os hago en la foto de mi Instagram donde llevo puestas estas pulseras (@martacarriedo). ¡Suerte!

Aunque ya sabéis que el negro es mi color favorito y que por eso recurro tanto a él también pienso que es una de las opciones más elegantes y además hace que las joyas siempre destaquen más. Por eso he escogido unos pantalones de cuello alto y estilo midi que me parece que estilizan y tienen un punto femenino que me encanta. Encima llevo una camisa semitransparente con flecos en las mangas, detalle que hizo que finalmente me la llevase. Y como el look de hoy va de joyas, qué mejor opción para el calzado que estos zapatos-joya llenos de glitter plateado, ¿os gustan para estas fechas o un evento más especial?

Volví a escoger una vez más el patio interior del Hotel Orfila de Madrid, uno de mis favoritos, por su calma y porque parece sacado de un cuento de hadas.

Morning morning!

Let’s start the Christmas week and the penultimate of this year… I’m so nervous! Don’t you?

And what a better way to celebrate Christmas than with a gift for you… But it is not any typical gift, it is a unique jewel that you will keep forever. I know that you know that black is my favorite color and that’s why I choose it many times. I think is one of the most elegant options and also makes jewellery highlight always. So I chose a high waisted midi pants that I think they stylized and have a feminine touch that I really like. I took over a semitransparent shirt with fringed sleeves, detail that made me finally take it. And as today is a jewel look, what a better choice for the shoes than these jewel-shoes full of glitter in silver, do you like them for this time of the year or for a special event?

I chose once again the courtyard of the Hotel Orfila in Madrid, one of my favorites, because it’s always calm and like and charm and fairytale place.

Comfy pullover dress

Y viernes de nuevo… ya sólo queda uno del año 2015, ¡qué fuerte!

Yo en cuanto llega el finde lo que más me gusta hacer ya sabéis que es ponerme lo más cómoda posible, y si es con ropa calentita y abrigada, aún mejor. Por eso este vestido largo de lana con cuello vuelto se ha convertido en un must en mi armario esta temporada. Además el color tan básico, gris/beige clarito, combina con cualquier color y complemento. Hoy he rescatado mis botas mosqueteras, que por cierto vuelven a estar en plena tendencia. Son negras, altas, planas y con la punta y el tacón de charol, y la verdad es que aparte de ser comodísimas pienso que estilizan mucho cualquier look.

Pues esta es mi propuesta para terminar la semana: jersey gordito y abrigado de lana en color neutral, botas mosqueteras negras y accesorios a juego. Unas maxi gafas de sol siempre son un buen complemento y la capa para los momentos de más frío.

So Friday again… and this is the last one of 2015, just can’t believe it!

As soon as the weekend comes what I like to do you is to dress as comfortable as possible, and if it is with warm clothing, even better. So this long wool dress with turtle neck has become a must in my wardrobe this season. Also for the color, a basic color as light gray/beige, it matches perfectly with any color and complement. Today I have rescued my knee booties, which actually are back in trend this winter. They are black, tall, flat and with the toe and heel in patent leather, and the truth is that apart from being very comfortable they also stylize any look. Let’s rock musketeers boots!

Well, so this is my proposal to end another week: comfy and warm neutral color wool long jersey, black knee boots and matching accessories. Maxi sunnies are always a good accessory and the cape for the cover moments of the day.

My smoking jacket

¿Quién nos iba a decir que vestiríamos en nuestro día a día con chaquetas de smoking y con un look tan moderno y roquero como este, verdad?

Pues eso os enseño en el look de hoy. Llevo una chaqueta de smoking en raso azul marino con cuellos en cuero negros. Otra combinación que nunca pensamos, ¿o no? Negro con azul marino… pues yo viendo los resultados del outfit de hoy creo que me encanta cómo combinan. Debajo llevo una camiseta básica gris, ya sabéis por lo del “menos es más”, y unos leggings de cuero negros de hace varios años. Como calzado escogí unos de mis botines favoritos de este año: negros de ante con plataforma de goma. No te resbalas con ellos y además la plataforma de delante hace que sean comodísimos. Este tipo de calzado es un ‘must’ esta temporada.

Y os cuento que he comenzado otra nueva sección en Non Stop People donde cada martes os haré una pregunta sobre cómo vestir para determinado momento o evento. Would you ever have thought that we will wear in our daily looks smoking jackets with such a modern and rocker look like this?

So this is what I show you on today’s look. I’m wearing a smoking jacket in satin navy blue with black leather edges. Black with navy blue… A strange combination that we never thought, right? But looking at the results of the outfit I think I like how they match together. Under I’m wearing a basic gray t-shirt, you know that “less is more”, and a black leather leggings from some years ago. As shoes I chose one of my favourite bootie froms this year: black suede with rubber platform. They are perfect for the rainy days and also the front platform makes them very comfy. This kind of footwear are really a ‘must’ this season.

And now I want to tell you that I have started a new section to the TV channel where I work: Non Stop People. Every Tuesday night I will make you a question about how to dress for a specific moment or event. My facial cleansers

¡Buenos días!

Hacía tiempo que no publicaba vídeo de belleza con mis nuevos trucos o descubrimiento de productos. Por eso he decidido dedicar este post a mis nuevos limpiadores de Kiehl’s.

Muchos de ellos los llevo utilizando mucho tiempo gracias a una amiga mía de Mallorca que me los recomendó y la verdad es que me ayudan mucho en la limpieza diaria y semanal de mi cara. Los que os muestro en el vídeo de hoy y que yo uso ya de forma habitual son las dos mascarillas para limpiar y cerrar los poros. De hecho una de ellas os la enseñé el otro día en mi Snapchat. Por una parte la crema micro-dermoabrasión es mejor utilizarla una vez a la semana ya que es más agresiva, y si tampoco tenéis la piel muy mal os recomiendo mejor la mascarilla simplemente para limpiar una o dos veces a la semanales poros, puntos negros y suciedad de nuestra piel.

Otro de mis productos estrella es la crema súper hidratante de cuerpo, se que muchos ya la conocéis.

En fin, en el vídeo os explico todo y os cuento cómo utilizar cada uno.

¡A cuidarnos la piel chicos que sólo tenemos una y está expuesta diariamente a todos los agentes tóxicos externos!

I have not posted a beauty video since some weeks ago talking to you about my new tricks or new good products at home. So I decided to dedicate this post to my new Kiehl’s cleansers.

I’ve been using many of them since a long time ago thanks to a friend of mine who lives in Mallorca and she recommended me to use the cleansers. They really help me a lot in my daily and weekly cleaning of my face. As I tell you in today’s video I use the peeling and masks regularly to clean and close pores. In fact one I showed you the other day on my snapchat how to use it, only for 5-10 minutes until it’s is dry and then remove. On one hand the micro-dermabrasion cream is best to use once a week because it is more aggressive, and if you do not have a very bad skin I think that you should better use the mask just to clean once or twice a week your pores, blackheads and dirt from your skin face.

Another of my star products is the super hydrating body cream, I know that many of you already know it.

Finally, in the video I explain everything and I tell you how to use each.

So please take care of your skin because is the only one we have and it is exposed daily to all the external toxic agents!

Leather addiction

Que soy adicta al cuero no es nada nuevo… Me gusta porque cada día se me ocurren mil formas nuevas y diferentes de combinar mis prendas más roqueras.

Generalmente no suelo llevar un look completo, suelo escoger o leggings/pantalones de cuero o cazadora de cuero, pero tengo que reconocer que viendo el resultado de las fotos de hoy me parece que sigue quedando igual de bien optar por un total leather outfit.

Hoy he combinado unos pantalones de cuero con mil cremalleras con una camisa vaquera. Como quería darle un punto diferente debajo me puse mi top de encaje negro y una camiseta blanca. Esto da un toque mucho más trendy. Encima mi cazadora de cuero negra y gafas negras con detalles plateados a juego con el resto del estilismo. Igual que las botas negras con detalles en metal.

Bueno como os contaba en el vlogmas de anoche no todos los días podemos estar súper contentos, alegres o con energía al 100% y ayer fue uno de mis días más “de bajón” por así decirlo. Es algo normal y humano porque al final los problemas que vamos teniendo en nuestra vida tanto personal como profesional nos acaban afectando a cada uno de una manera y con distinta intensidad. Yo personalmente sabéis que soy una persona sensible y sufro mucho cuando me pasa algo “malo” pero rápidamente valoro la situación desde fuera e intento aprender de ella para la próxima vez y, lo más importante, intento rodearme de gente que me quiera ‘bien’ y me valore como persona viendo el esfuerzo que llevo haciendo todos estos años para llegar donde estoy. Es verdad que cada vez es más complicado ver quiénes son tus verdaderos amigos ya que es un mundo muy irreal y superficial pero bueno al final todo se demuestra con hechos y no con palabras. Como siempre os digo lo más importante es irse a dormir con la conciencia tranquila cada día y yo hasta ahora tengo la suerte de poder hacerlo.

Dicho esto me despido hasta mañana no sin antes recordaros que esta noche comienzo nueva sección de moda en la cadena donde trabajo, Non Stop People. Ya sabéis que es el dial 23 de Movistar Plus y estoy deseando que lo veáis para que mañana me deis vuestro feedback.

I’m addicted to leather yes, this is nothing new… I like it because every day I can think about a thousand new and different ways to combine it creating many rocker styles.

I do not usually wear a complete leather look, I usually choose or leggings/leather pants or a leather jacket, but I have to admit that looking at the result of today’s photoshoot I think that is also a good option to choose a full leather outfit for our day a day.

Today I have combined my leather pants with thousand zippers with a denim shirt. As I wanted to give a different touch under I wore my black lace top and a white t-shirt. This absolutely gives the trendy touch. Over I’m wearing my black leather jacket and my black sunnies with silver accents matching the rest of the styling. Like the black booties with metal details.

Well as I told you last night in the vlogmas not every day we can be super happy or full of energy and yesterday was one of my days more “down” or “not as good” as I told you on the video. This is normal because we are humans and in the end the problems we have in our personal and professional lives they end up affecting everyone in one way or another and with different intensity. I personally know that I’m a very sensitive person and I suffer a lot when something like “bad” happens to me but I try to recover quickly and analize the situation from outside and try to learn from it for the next time. Also it is important to try to surround yourself with people who love you ‘well’ and valorate you and your work. I like people around me that appreciate the effort I’ve been done all these years to get where I am today. It is true that it is difficult nowadays to see who are your real friends as it is a very unreal and superficial world but in the end everything the way we have to prove the real love for anyone is with acts, not with words. As always I remind you that the most important thing is to go to sleep every night with a clear mind and I feel lucky to can do it every night.

Ok so said this and before saying goodbye until tomorrow I want to remind you that tonight I will start a new fashion section in the chain where I work, Non Stop People. You know that is the dial 23rd of Movistar Plus and I’m looking forward to read your feedback guys!

My new year Bucketlist

Y comenzamos nueva semana y casi en el ecuador de Diciembre… ¡qué poco queda para el nuevo año!

Yo siempre suelo terminar cada año contenta por mirar atrás y ver todo lo que he conseguido (este año mucho más de lo que me esperaba la verdad) y también con mucha energía para continuar trabajando y luchando por mis sueños, por ir cumpliendo nuevas metas y objetivos.

Desde que soy pequeña mi hermana y yo solemos hacer algo muy divertido y constructivo. Os lo quiero contar. Unos días antes de fin de año redactamos una lista con 12 deseos que vamos leyendo el día de fin de año a medida que nos tomamos las 12 uvas. Tienen que ser deseos/objetivos reales. Evidentemente me encantaría pedir por “la paz en el mundo” pero desgraciadamente todos sabemos que eso es algo imposible hoy en día. Nosotras nos centramos más en objetivos profesionales y personales que nos gustaría cumplir. El año siguiente sacamos la lista del año anterior y vemos lo que hemos conseguido y lo que no, y elaboramos la nueva lista.

Con todo esto os vengo a decir que puede que tengamos deseos/sueños/objetivos aparentemente difíciles de conseguir o que no podamos hacerlo sólo en un año, pero lo más importante es tener la voluntad y las ganas, porque como decía mi abuelo “gota a gota se hace el río hija”. Y es cierto. Cada paso, cada idea, cada energía que gastamos en luchar por lo que queremos siempre cuenta. Siempre.

Y comienzo la semana con el que probablemente será mi look favorito: una chaqueta de lana de estilo étnico, una camiseta burdeos de cuello vuelto debajo y uno vaqueros de pitillo grises. Accesorios en burdeos a juego con el estampado de la chaqueta.

Hi there!

Let’s start a new week and almost in the middle of December… there’s just a few days until the New Year, time flies!

I always used to end each year happy looking back and seeing everything that I have achieved (this year much more than I really expected) and also with a lot of energy to continue working and fighting for my dreams, to keep on working to get my new goals.

Since I was little my sister and I usually do something fun and constructive. I want to tell you this. A few days before the end of the year we wrote a list of 12 wishes that we read the last day of the year as we take the 12 grapes. They must be real objectives/goals. Obviously I would love to wish for the “peace in the world” but unfortunately we all know that is something impossible nowadays. You should focus more on professional and personal goals you would like to achieve. The next coming year we take the list from the previous year and see what we have achieved and what not, and we write a new Bucketlist.

With all these things I want to say to you that we may have desires/dreams/goals seemingly difficult to get or that we can not do it in one year, but the most important thing is to have the will and desire, because as my grandfather used to tell me “drop after drop the river becomes” and it’s completely true. Every step, every idea, every energy we spend on fighting for what we always have wanted, counts. Always.

And I start the week which probably my favorite look: a wool jacket ethnic style with a burgundy turtleneck shirt under and some gray skinny jeans. Burgundy accessories matching the print of the jacket.

Casual Friday, my fav!

Viernes casual… lo que más me gusta.

Tanto para la televisión (por imagen de cadena) como para la mayoría de los eventos a los que asisto el dress code suele ser ‘vente arreglado pero informal’; es decir, no vengas en zapatillas, yo aprovecho los fines de semana y los días que tengo más tiempo libre para vestir lo más cómoda y sencilla posible, siempre siguiendo mi estilo.

Ya os comenté el otro día que no me considero una persona cuadriculada, creo que en esta vida hay que tener una mente abierta para todo. Tanto para el trabajo como para las relaciones personales y por qué no, también para la moda. Por eso he vuelto a escoger el color blanco para vestir en invierno. ¿Dónde está escrito que no se pueden llevar jeans blancos en estas fechas? A mi me parece que el blanco da siempre un punto de luz a cualquier look. Encima llevo una de mis últimas adquisiciones: este jersey azul marino de lana con rallas deshilachadas blancas, oversize, muy del estilo de los que me pongo habitualmente. Y por el día gracias al sol no se notan tanto las bajas temperaturas por lo que esta vez he optado por ponerme mi cazadora vaquera también tamaño XL. El toque más informal lo conseguí con mis zapatillas a juego con el resto del estilismo.

Y aquí tenéis ya el vlogmas de hoy.

Espero tener este finde por fin un poco más de tiempo para mi; para descansar y valorar nuevas propuestas de cara al año que viene y para pasármelo bien con mis amigos. ¡Espero que vosotros hagáis lo mismo! hehe. Y recordad que os iré contando todo en directo a través de mi Snapchat: @itgirlmarta.

Casual Friday… this is what I like.

For both, my work in television and for almost all the events that I attend, the dress code uses to be ‘well dressed but casual style’; for example do not come in sneakers. So I use the weekends and days that I have more free time for me to dress as comfortable and easy as possible, always according with my style.

I told you last week that I do not consider myself a rigid person, I believe that in this life you need to have an open mind to everything. For work and for personal relationships and why not also for fashion. So I returned to dress in white for winter. Where is it written that you can not wear white jeans by this time? I personally think that white always gives a point of light to any look. On top I’m wearing one of my latest acquisitions: this navy blue wool sweater with frayed white stripes, oversize, absolutely the style I usually wear. And during the day the sun makes us to feel so much warm so this time I chose to wear my denim jacket XL size too. The more informal touch came with my sneakers matching the rest of the styling.

And I’m waiting for this weekend to enjoy with my friends, to have time to me, to do whatever I want and to plan next year actions. Also I want to enjoy this Christmas mood, hehe, I hope you do the same! And remember, I’ll tell you all live through my snapchat: itgirlmarta.

Little prince kinda coat

Pues si, estoy segura de que a vosotros también os ha pasado que veis o tenéis una prenda que os recuerda a cuando erais pequeños, ¿o no?

Mi madre nos compraba a mi hermana y a mi este tipo de abrigos como el que llevo hoy en todos los colores. Los llamábamos “abrigos de principito” y con ese nombre se quedaron hasta hoy. Y la verdad es que falta de significado no tienen porque precisamente los reyes y príncipes desde siempre han utilizando el terciopelo para sus atuendos y vestimentas, y en colores como este azul petróleo, burdeos, verde…

Yo he optado por un look casi por completo en azul con vaqueros ajustados cortados, botines azules de tacón medio y he aprovechado los detalles en rojo del borde del bolsillo para ponerme mi bolso bandolera de piel rojo con cadena y tachuelas doradas.

Y hablando de príncipes y principitos qué mejor que terminar el post de hoy con una de mis frases favoritas que además viene al caso ya que es de uno de los mejores libros que existen y que seguro que vosotros también habéis leído: ‘El Principito’. Y la frase dice lo siguiente: “He aquí mi secreto, que no puede ser más simple: sólo con el corazón se puede ver bien, lo esencial es invisible para los ojos”, Antoine de Saint Exupéry.

I’m pretty sure that sometiens it happened to you to see or have something that reminds you of when you were little, your childhood, right?

My mother used to buy my sister and me these kind of coats, like this one that I’m wearing today, in all colors. We called them “little prince coats” and that name stayed until nowadays. The truth is that this name it isn’t lack of meaning because we all know that kings and princes have always used velvet fabric for their clothes and costumes, and always mixing blue colors with burgundy, green…

So I opted for a look almost entirely in blue with skinny ripped jeans, blue medium heeled booties and my red leather shoulder bag with chain and golden studs matching with the red edge of the side pockets.

Talking about princesses and little princes what a better to finish today’s post than with one of my favorite quotes from one of the best books in the world that surely you have also read: ‘The Little Prince’. And the sentence says: “Here is my secret, a very simple secret: it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye”, Antoine de Saint Exupéry.
